URW wins AMAC Diversity & Inclusion Catalyst Award

URW Airports was proud to be Catalyst Award recipient at the 2019 AMAC Airport Business Diversity Conference

URW Airports was proud to be title sponsor and Catalyst Award recipient at the 2019 AMAC Airport Business Diversity Conference, held August 20-23 at the JW Marriott in Downtown Los Angeles.

The 2019 AMAC Airport Business Diversity Conference, held in August in Downtown Los Angeles, brought together businesses, aviation professionals, government officials and airport stakeholders from around the country to discuss a wide range of airport issues, including how to do business at airports and public policy.

URW Airports is committed to building better communities in the places we work, and a major focus of that is taking an active role in the ACDBE and small business community to maximize opportunities in airport terminals.

The URW team participated on a number of panels and conversations during the three-day conference that spanned a wide range of topics.

Executive Vice President and Group Director Dominic Lowe joined a panel called A Panorama on Partnership, a 90-minute discussion on the importance of finding the right partners for all manner of airport projects. Vice President of Leasing Mike Caro was featured on a panel called “Concessions Demystified,” which took the audience through the entire concession process. He was also a featured speaker at the Ask the Expert roundtables. Digital Marketing Director Chris Baccus capped off Day 2 of the event on a panel called “The Airport as the New Digital Marketplace.”

The Catalyst Award honors an airport or business that has demonstrated creativity and originality in its project design; met or exceeded ACDBE participation goals over a period not less than two years; and is an active member who acknowledges the value and purpose of AMAC. Chris Adkins, URW’s assistant general manager at LAX, accepted the Catalyst Award at a luncheon Thursday at the JW Marriott.

Congrats to all of this year’s Catalyst Award winners and nominees, and thanks to everyone at AMAC and Los Angeles World Airports for putting on an incredible conference!
