The Miansai mobile pop-up recently won the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Visual Victories Award for Most Creative Promotional Cart or Kiosk. The awards celebrate outstanding work done by visual merchandisers, retailers and specialty-leasing agents.

The group has been introducing pop-ups at airports across the country as a way to enhance the airport journey and give travelers a unique experience every time they come through the airport.

“Miansai and other airport pop-ups are proving that the retail experience in the airport can be just as fun, innovative and exciting as it is out on the street,” said Iris Messina, Vice President of Leasing, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield. “We applaud our partner Miansai and congratulate them on their well-deserved ICSC award!”

Miansai made its airport debut last September in LAX’s Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT). Outside Gate 148, the brand took a creative approach to their pop-up location: a 1965 Piaggio truck served as the ‘kiosk’, selling a curated selection of signature jewelry and leather goods. The pop-up remained parked in TBIT from September 2017 through the end of the year.

Miansai is an Americana brand with flagship retail locations in New York and California. Its fleet of mobile retail units includes two vintage Airstream trailers, Fiat and Piaggio trucks. The mobile retail units travel coast to coast to promote Miansai’s coastal brand as part of their Mobile Tour.
